Philadelphia Eagles: 7-Round 2020 mock draft following Darius Slay trade
By Dan Parzych
With all of the offensive power across the NFC East, defense is going to be key for the Eagles if they want to repeat as division champions in 2020, especially when it comes to the pass rush.
At the moment, Philadelphia’s defense is loaded with all sorts of weapons who constantly apply the necessary pressure to opposing quarterbacks, but there is always room for adding more to the unit.
Over the years, Auburn has seen plenty of great defenders go on to have successful careers, and even though Marlon Davison is projected to be a middle-round pick at the moment in the draft, the defender could eventually see his name added to that list.
Similar to Toohill, Davidson appeared to be the kind of defender who got better each year with the Tigers, and if this turns out to be the case for the NFL as well, the Eagles or any other team will be fortunate enough to have him on the roster.
Mobility may be one of the issues for Davidson that could result in the Tigers star falling to Day 3 of the draft, but also if this were to turn out to be the case, it would certainly benefit Philadelphia.
A defense like the Eagles can always use additional pass rushers to work with, and the kind of hand power Davidson possesses would once again provide Schwartz with another great project to develop.
