Now that Jordan Howard is officially a member of the Miami Dolphins, could the Eagles look to the draft to add another running back late for insurance purposes?

Not only did Philadelphia benefit in a big way last offseason in the draft by using a second-round pick on Miles Sanders, but Boston Scott turned out to be a major surprise late in the season as well to help pick up some of the slack on offense.

All of a sudden, the Eagles appear to have a new dynamic duo to work with moving forward, but if the past is any indication, they will certainly need some extra help just to be safe.

Doug Pederson has been known to ride with the hot hand at times in the backfield instead of focusing on one individual player, and one name worth monitoring this late in the draft could be Miami’s Deejay Dallas.

The addition of Dallas to compete for the No. 3 job at running back could provide Philadelphia’s offense with the extra boost needed, and has also been praised for his ability as a blocker on offense, which is big.

Extra competition is always great for a team like the Eagles at running back, and all Dallas needs is the right opportunity to prove he’s worthy of a roster spot to help put Philadelphia in better position to earn a trip to the playoffs for a fourth year in a row.
