5. Devin Funchess

During the four years spent with the Carolina Panthers, Devin Funchess always seemed to be the kind of receiver who was on the verge of breaking out, yet never really lived up to the high expectations.

Once the Panthers decided to move on from Funchess, the Indianapolis Colts were hoping a fresh start on a new team would help the wideout elevate his game to new levels.

Unfortunately, a broken collarbone suffered in September resulted in Funchess only appearing in one game for the Colts last season in which he caught just three passes for 32 yards.

And if this wasn’t already frustrating enough for Funchess, the receiver is still in search of a new home for the 2020 season to prove he still has what it takes to make the necessary impact on offense.

Obviously, a player like Funchess isn’t going to resolve all of the issues Philadelphia experienced at the wide receiver position last season, but at least he could provide some extra depth in case one of the other players dealt with injuries.

Plus, for all the Eagles know, maybe signing Funchess will be the fresh start he was looking for last season, and finally result in a breakout season after all these years.
