Even though Joe Flacco is available, the Philadelphia Eagles should avoid signing the former Super Bowl MVP in free agency.

Free agency has been underway for just about a week for the Philadelphia Eagles, as the team has been making the necessary moves to put the team in better position to compete for a playoff spot once again during the 2020 season.

Despite earning a third trip in a row to the playoffs last season, the Eagles will have their work cut out for them in 2020 if that streak is going to increase to four since the NFC East alone is going to be challenging.

Around this time last year, one of the biggest questions surrounding Philadelphia was whether Carson Wentz was capable of staying healthy enough to lead the offense, and the pressure was even higher when Nick Foles left the team for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

During the previous two seasons when Wentz dealt with unfortunate injuries, Foles was always there to pick up the slack.

But with the former Super Bowl MVP departing for the Jaguars, the Eagles felt confident enough in Nate Sudfeld taking on the responsibilities as the new backup to Wentz.

Unfortunately, Sudfeld’s opportunity to prove himself worthy of the gig came up short in August when the quarterback suffered a broken wrist in preseason, leading Philadelphia to convince Josh McCown to come out of retirement.

And while Sudfeld will get another opportunity in 2020 to prove he is the best option at backup, there has been some recent discussion from the fan base over whether the Eagles should give another former Super Bowl MVP in Joe Flacco a look.

At the moment, Philadelphia has yet to express any sort of interest in bringing Flacco on board after the veteran was recently released by the Denver Broncos, but since the topic is being discussed, here are three reasons the Eagles should avoid this move at all costs.
