Scouting Report. Alabama. 9. player. 54. Pick Analysis. Safety. Xavier McKinney

Due to Malcolm Jenkins no longer being part of the team after the Eagles decided to move on from their former veteran leader, Philadelphia hopes switching Jalen Mills to safety will work out for the best in 2020.

Of course, this is another scenario in which this is guaranteed to be successful for Philadelphia since Jenkins was a rare kind of talent at safety, and his leadership skills played a big role in the Eagles being a top contender in each of the last three seasons.

So to be safe, Philadelphia should explore adding another safety in the upcoming draft, whether it happens to be in the first round or during one of the final two days.

If the Eagles do end up deciding to look at safety on the first night, Alabama’s Xavier McKinney could very well be available once Philadelphia is on the clock, although there are plenty of teams in the first 20 picks that need help at the position as well.

Over the years, the Crimson Tide have seen plenty of great defenders go on to have successful NFL careers, and if all goes well for McKinney, the star safety will soon see his name added to that impressive list.

Similar to Henderson, McKinney is another defender who will need to work on his tackling abilities once he makes the transition to the NFL, but hopefully with the right coaching this will improve in no time.
