Houston Texans: Justin Reid

Speaking of defenders who will eventually be in for big pay days down the road, Justin Reid is turning out to be quite a steal for the Houston Texans after seeing the impact made by the former third-round pick over the last two seasons.

With Reid starting 27 of the 31 games appeared in since 2018 to go along with five interceptions and 166 combined tackles, the Stanford product seems to be only scratching the surface of his true potential in the NFL.

Thanks to the success from the previous two seasons, chances are it would take a lot to convince the Texans to move on from a safety in Reid with so much potential, but also keep in mind this is the same team that recently decided to trade DeAndre Hopkins for basically nothing.

Basically, as bad as it sounds, if Houston were willing to trade away their top wideout out of nowhere, why should any other current member of the Texans feel safe from being the next player out?

Philadelphia’s decision to move on from Malcolm Jenkins this offseason was extremely difficult after all the veteran safety did for the team over the years, and replacing him at safety will nearly be impossible.

But at least with someone like Reid, it could help make the Eagles feel a little better about their decision regarding Jenkins, especially since there is no guarantee that switching Jalen Mills will turn out for the best.
