Philadelphia Eagles seem determined to land K.J. Hamler in draft

The Philadelphia Eagles recently performed a second interview with Penn State wide receiver K.J. Hamler with the 2020 NFL Draft right around the corner.
It was already clear the Philadelphia Eagles were interested in K.J. Hamler when the team met with the Penn State product earlier this offseason, and Miles Sanders gave fans even more reasons to be excited after being hopeful to reunite with his former teammate.
A few weeks from now, the 2020 NFL Draft will officially be underway, and with all of the talented prospects at wide receiver, the Eagles are expected to take advantage, as they could even end up selecting two players.
As for Hamler, while Philadelphia currently has the No. 21 pick in the first round, if there is in fact mutual interest between the two parties, chances are the Eagles would wait until at least the second round at No. 53 before taking a chance.
One of the best parts about this time of year is the constant speculation over potential landing spots for certain players in the draft, and with Philadelphia recently conducting a second interview with Hamler, the interest appears to be clearly there for the Eagles.
Due to all of the injuries at wide receiver last season along with the fact that certain veterans such as Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson are getting up there in age, it’s no secret that Philadelphia needs to bring on some depth this offseason.
Since the Eagles didn’t make any big moves at the start of free agency, it became pretty clear the draft was going to be their top focus to do so, and even though there is always the chance of another team getting Hamler before Philadelphia, there is hope.
Based off all of the interest from the meetings over the last few months, Eagles fans need to keep in mind there’s always the chance of Howie Roseman doing whatever it takes to land Hamler if the interest is truly there, including the possibility of trading up in the second round if needed.
The 56 catches for 904 yards with eight touchdowns as a junior with the Nittany Lions in 2019 may not seem like the most attractive numbers for NFL teams looking to improve at wideout, but also Hamler seems like he just needs the right system to flourish.
So when taking all of these factors into consideration, if Hamler does become a member of the Eagles a few weeks from now, no one would be surprised at all.
