If the Philadelphia Eagles opt to think outside the box in the opening round of the 2020 NFL Draft, there are options outside of wide receivers and defensive backs.

You’re all probably thinking the same thing, and that’s this. “I sure hope the Philadelphia Eagles don’t select anything other than a wide receiver in the first round”. At this point, at least 75 percent of the fan base would agree with you.

A wide receiver or a defensive back almost has to be Philly’s selection at 21.

There’s some cause for concern, however, because as Bleeding Green Nation’s Brandon Lee Gowton pointed out recently via social media, the front office has often dedicated early-round picks to addressing the offensive or defensive line. Take a look.

Yes, dedication to the trenches is a must for any NFL franchise. The Eagles have made three straight postseason appearances, thanks in large part to the play of both the offensive and defensive lines.

In 2017, the Eagles were often carried by the defensive line, and the offensive line was among the league’s best. They kept Nick Foles and Carson Wentz upright for most of the season.

The depth of this year’s wide receiver class figures to give Philly a real shot at addressing their need t add one. It shouldn’t be difficult to find impact players. Philly has three fourth-round selections (picks 127,145, and 146).

What follows is three players who could be nice options if they elect to address some other needs in the first round.
