Should the Philadelphia Eagles give Eli Apple a look after the cornerback’s previous deal with the Las Vegas Raiders fell through?

A few years ago, Eli Apple was considered to be a problem for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East when the former Ohio State star was a member of the New York Giants before a trade in the middle of the 2018 season sent him to the New Orleans Saints.

Less than two years later, Apple was expected to join the Las Vegas Raiders for the 2020 season before the deal unfortunately fell through, meaning the former first-round pick is once again available for teams still looking to add a cornerback before the draft.

From Apple’s perspective, there are obviously reasons to feel frustrated over the deal with the Raiders failing to work out, but at least it shouldn’t be too long before the cornerback finds another team to join.

With that being said, since Apple is all of a sudden available again as a free agent, it only seems fitting to discuss why he arguably deserves consideration from the Eagles.

Thanks to a trade that brought Darius Slay over from the Detroit Lions, the addition of the three-time Pro Bowler should boost the cornerback play for Philadelphia in a big way during the 2020 season.

But of course, even with Slay coming on board, there is still room for adding another cornerback in free agency before the draft, whether it happens to be Apple or someone else.

Since Apple happens to be available, here are three reasons the Eagles need to at least consider this possibility, even if there are some concerns over what took place with the Raiders.
