With the No. 21 pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles would benefit in a big way by going wide receiver right away.

In a matter of weeks, the 2020 NFL Draft will officially be underway for the Philadelphia Eagles, as the defending NFC East champions hope to take advantage of this year’s class by bringing on new talent to fill a few of their needs, including wide receiver.

Around this time last year, there was plenty of excitement surrounding the Eagles at wide receiver since DeSean Jackson was returning for a second stint, and joining an elite group that already consisted of another top playmaker in Alshon Jeffery.

Unfortunately, Philadelphia fans basically only saw one exciting game with the duo last September before injuries caught up to the two veterans.

Time will tell when it comes to seeing whether both Jackson and Jeffery return to their usual ways in 2020 with a full offseason to focus on getting healthy, but even if this is the case, the Eagles still need to take advantage of this year’s wide receiver class in the draft.

Talent wise, there has been plenty of talk how this year’s draft class at wide receiver could end up being one of the best ever, although there are no guarantees when it comes to the NFL these days.

Still, the last thing Philadelphia can afford is to miss out on a perfect opportunity to upgrade at the position with all of the great talent at wide receiver, especially in the first round.

For months, there has been plenty of discussion over whether the Eagles should address wide receiver right away in the draft at No. 21, and since the big event is right around the corner, here are three reasons why this now seems like the best option for Doug Pederson’s squad.
