The good news for Philadelphia is thanks to the trade to acquire Darius Slay, the cornerback position isn’t as big of a need entering the draft.

However, the Eagles still have some uncertainty at the No. 2 spot alongside Slay as far as who will be the starter is concerned, and if the team decides to go in this direction for the first round, Trevon Diggs could be a solid prospect to target.

Alabama has seen plenty of their former defenders go on to have successful NFL careers throughout the Nick Saban era, and it seems like only a matter of time before Diggs is officially added to that list of impressive stars.

Over the last few months, Diggs has been difficult to project as far as landing spots are concerned since there are plenty of teams that could select him in the top 15, but also could still end up being available later in the round.

There’s always the chance of the Eagles waiting things out to see if Diggs ends up being available, but if they get nervous, and decide to trade up a few spots, the Las Vegas Raiders sitting at No. 19 could be potential option.

Since the Raiders happen to be another team that may be open to a potential trade with an extra pick in the first round as a result of the Khalil Mack trade from 2018, it most likely wouldn’t take much for Philadelphia to convince Las Vegas with an intriguing offer.

And if this were to end up being the case, the Eagles would have a young cornerback in Diggs to potentially team up with Slay for years to come.
