Philadelphia Eagles: 3 reasons to consider D’Andre Swift at No. 21 in draft
By Dan Parzych
Could D’Andre Swift turn out to be a potential option for the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 21 in the 2020 NFL Draft?
In less than two weeks, the Philadelphia Eagles will officially be participating in the 2020 NFL Draft along with every other team, and while nothing is set in stone at the moment, one popular discussion as of late has been whether D’Andre Swift could be a potential option.
At the moment, the two biggest needs for the Eagles appear to be wide receiver and cornerback after all of the inconsistency from last season.
And while Philadelphia could very well end up focusing on one of these two positions right away in the first round at No. 21, a running back like Swift certainly deserves consideration as well.
Running backs aren’t always considered the best options in drafts during the first round, and there’s a good chance the Eagles could always risk waiting until the second to see if Swift ends up still being available, but also Philadelphia isn’t the only team looking for help at the position.
If the Eagles truly believe that Swift is talented enough to make the necessary impact on offense to help put Philadelphia in better position to earn a trip to the playoffs for a fourth year in a row, why wouldn’t they consider this option early on?
As great as it was to watch the Eagles finish on top of the NFC East last season despite all of the struggles on offense, the team is smart enough to realize they will need a much better approach for 2020, including the running back position.
With opening night of the draft right around the corner, here are a few reasons to support Philadelphia considering Swift in the first round to provide another weapon to work with in the backfield.
