1. Arcega-Whiteside missed golden opportunity to step up

Watching Philadelphia find a way to finish on top of the NFC East last season despite all of the injuries on offense was truly incredible to witness, but also there was some frustration as well.

As a result of both Jackson and Jeffery dealing with injuries throughout the 2019 season, there were opportunities for other receivers to step up in the passing game, which Ward took full advantage of during the final stretch.

But when it came to Arcega-Whiteside, this was one receiver who the Eagles and fans were hoping to see take advantage of all the injuries to see additional passes thrown in his direction.

Instead, Arcega-Whiteside missed out on the perfect opportunity to show off his skill set, and while the argument can be made that it’s unfair to hand out this kind of criticism for a rookie, the argument can also be made that he should have been able to handle it.

If someone like Arcega-Whiteside wasn’t capable of handling the extra responsibility of being relied on more in the passing game as a result of all the injuries, well then he never should have been selected in the second round to begin with.

Philadelphia obviously has reasons to believe Arcega-Whiteside will be able to bounce back after a disappointing rookie campaign, but if 2019 was any indication of what the young wideout’s career is going to be like, the Eagles could be better off without him.
