3. What we get from Cam in crisis isn’t good.

We’ve seen Joe Flacco play the backup role and help Lamar Jackson. We’ve seen evidence that cam still wants to start. We’ve seen both Cam Newton and Joe Flacco go to the Super Bowl. Flacco won in his opportunity and took home the MVP trophy. Cam Newton decided not to dive on a fumble and stormed off of the stage during the post-game interview.

There have been 54 Super Bowls. In all 54 instances, there has been a quarterback who has won the game. There have been 54 instances where a quarterback has been on the losing side. There have even been instances where the losing quarterback spoke after the game. There has only been one instance where a quarterback couldn’t handle what was being thrown at him. Does anybody want to talk about who that quarterback was?

Super Bowl 47 feels as though it was 30 years ago, and ever since, Mr. Flacco has never looked as good as he did during that run to a title. Maybe it was because he lost Jim Caldwell, someone Philly could have hired as an offensive coordinator and passed on. Yes, the “Birds” really are married to this idea of not having an offensive coordinator, which makes having good position coaches and assembling the best roster possible more important.
