3 UTR mid-round NFL Draft prospects Philadelphia Eagles should consider
By Ben Swanger
The Philadelphia Eagles have to strike gold in the middle rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft.
This year’s NFL Draft evaluation process was much different than in years past, which could open the door to a few “sleeper” picks for the Philadelphia Eagles. The “Birds” have gaping holes at a few positions and the need to add depth at others. Howie Roseman hasn’t been particularly great at scoring that mid-round superstar, but this draft needs to produce better results.
A first-round wide receiver would be anything but surprising, but when will the team pick up a second wideout? There is also a need for Roseman to rein in a talented linebacker seeing as how Nigel Bradham’s Eagles career has, presumably, come to an end.
With the departure of Malcolm Jenkins, depth is needed at the safety position. Will the newly converted Jalen Mills or free agent signing Will Parks start alongside Rodney McLeod? Another fresh face in that room is probably necessary.
It wouldn’t be an Eagles draft if they didn’t pick a defensive end. They’ve added one in eight consecutive selection meetings. The Eagles could also benefit from adding a bruiser in the backfield to take the pressure off of Miles Sanders.
Philadelphia has five picks in rounds three, four and five. Let’s take a look at three prospects the Birds should give some strong consideration to in that range.
