3. Ruggs wouldn’t feel pressure to be top wideout right away

In the long run, Philadelphia would love nothing more than to find a reliable wide receiver from this year’s class to eventually be the top target for the Eagles in the passing game, whether it happens to be Ruggs or someone else.

But when looking at the role Ruggs played with the Crimson Tide over the years along with the fact that Philadelphia wouldn’t need him to be the No. 1 option right away at wide receiver, this scenario could work out perfect for both parties.

Even though Philadelphia’s receiving corps didn’t exactly live up to the high expectations in 2019 due to numerous injuries to key players such as DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery, there is hope that both veterans will be healthy enough to return to their usual ways next season.

Assuming this turns out to be the case, a player like Ruggs could come on board as the No. 3 or No. 4 option for now at wide receiver, depending on how the competition played out with others during training camp.

The Eagles would obviously love nothing more than to see Ruggs become a higher option if the opportunity were to present itself, but also realize this is a scenario in which they can afford to be patient if needed.

So while other rookie receivers may be feeling additional pressure to take on a larger role right away, if Ruggs were to end up in Philadelphia, this would be far from the case.
