NFC East Power Rankings: Eagles sit on top entering 2020 NFL Draft
By Erin Grugan
The NFC East outlook may be drastically different later this week after the 2020 NFL Draft, but the Philadelphia Eagles are already poised to be strong divisional contenders.
The NFC East last season was a storm of issues for just about every team, including the Philadelphia Eagles with all of the injuries Doug Pederson’s squad unfortunately dealt with.
Realistically, the winner in the division last season basically came down to who was the least bad, not who was the best.
That being said, the offseason is a well of opportunities for teams to make adjustments big and small to change their franchise completely, or improve upon what is already in place.
One of the biggest opportunities for teams will begin Thursday night with the 2020 NFL Draft.
Though it will look very different than usual by taking on a virtual format in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the stakes for the teams will be the same as any other year.
The upcoming seasons of each of the 32 teams could be hugely impacted by the decisions made this weekend, and the NFC East is no exception.
In fact, for some in the division, it could make or break their seasons entirely. While the Eagles barely edged out the Dallas Cowboys last season for the NFC East title, the New York Giants and Washington Redskins could both find a way to be surprise contenders during the 2020 season, depending on what happens this week.
With that being said, there are a few predictions that can be made before anyone is on the clock, so here is a look at some NFC East Power Rankings leading up to Thursday’s draft discussing all four teams.
