Philadelphia Eagles: Ranking NFL Draft’s top 20 wide receivers
Philadelphia Eagles fans, we’re less than a week from showtime. Here’s one final countdown of the top 20 wide receivers in the 2020 NFL Draft.
By now, you’ve heard the names of these prospects so much that you’re probably just frustrated and thinking “Let’s just get to the NFL Draft already”. The wide receiver position has dominated most of the conversations within the Philly media and in the Philadelphia Eagles fan base since last year’s regular season.
Truthfully, the only thing that you can compare the tension around this selection meeting to was the 1999 NFL Draft, when the majority of the Eagles fan base was on board with the idea of taking Ricky Williams with the second-overall selection.
Well, you know how that turned out. Philly went with Donovan McNabb instead, and though fans booed the organization’s decision to take “5” on draft day, it turned out that they were right and the fans were wrong.
Fast forward, and the overwhelming consensus is everyone wants this team to take a wide receiver in the first round in 2020. Might the “Birds” throw another curveball? Let’s hope not, but in the meantime, no one will debate how desperately the Eagles need a true number-one target for Carson Wentz.
Let’s count down the top 20 pass catchers at the wideout position one final time, shall we? 2020’s draft is scheduled to begin on April 23rd.
