Auburn. Derrick Brown. 2. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Defensive Lineman. 31

Rightfully so, Derrick Brown is considered one of the top defensive players from this year’s draft class, and there’s a good chance the Auburn star will easily be selected in the top 10 with all of the teams in need of help on the defensive side of the football.

With the Giants currently hanging on to the No. 4 pick, New York will be in great position to select Brown if the interest is there, and while there will be plenty of other prospects to consider, the long-term potential is what really stands out here.

Between the Eagles and Cowboys being in great shape at quarterback with Wentz and Prescott along with the Redskins expected to see more of an impact at the position with Haskins or someone else, the Giants could benefit in a big way from another effective pass rusher.

Looking at Brown from his time over the years with the Tigers, his massive size and explosive style of play is the kind of addition New York needs to provide the necessary boost on defense.

Many believe the Giants finally have the kind of team that can emerge as a surprise contender in 2020 if all goes according to plan, and if someone like Brown were to live up to the hype, the team would be in better shape to compete with the Eagles for the division title.
