10 players Eagles should fear most joining NFC East in 2020 NFL Draft
By Dan Parzych
Since the Giants clearly need some help on the defensive side of the football just to have a fighting chance to compete in the NFC East, could Isaiah Simmons turn out to be a surprise option at No. 4?
After spending the first three years at Clemson as a safety, Simmons made the official switch to linebacker for the 2019 season, and as a result is arguably considered the best player from this year’s draft at the position.
By recording eight sacks to go along with 16.5 tackles for loss during his final season with the Tigers, Simmons seems more than ready to take his skills to the NFL level, and make an impact right away as a rookie, whether it happens to be with the Giants or another team.
As previously mentioned, New York will clearly need to add a few major weapons on the defensive side of the football during the upcoming draft in order to have any sort of fighting chance to compete for the division title in 2020.
Clearly, Simmons isn’t going to solve all the issues the Giants have been dealing with in recent years, but at least this would be another major step in the right direction.
