Here’s what Marqis Lee would provide the Philadelphia Eagles.

In 2019, Jacksonville moved on from Bortles to Super Bowl MVP and winner quarterback Nick Foles with hopes of rallying their offense. Unfortunately, they lost Foles to a clavicle injury in the Week 1 opener of the 2019 season.

The Jags also added Pro Bowl wide receiver DJ Chark but still couldn’t jumpstart the offense or the team as a whole, and the Jaguars ultimately ended their season with a 6-10 record.

Amid a quarterback shuffle and Jacksonville’s awful ride through the 2019 season, Lee was forgotten about. Chark and Westbrook found their way into the starting roles, and a new team began to take shape around rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew, one that didn’t seem to have Lee in their plans for the future.

Lee was likely overlooked primarily due to his long and detailed injury history. This coupled with a history of him having to deal with inefficient quarterback play dulls the impact of his achievements, but he isn’t done yet. Marqise Lee could easily find a spot on the 2020 Eagles roster and provide value.

A 700-yard season would blow what the Eagles got from their wide receiver corps in 2019 out of the water. Philly didn’t field any wideout who snagged more than 500 yards receiving last year, and they’re hurting at the position. Marqise Lee could add depth where the Eagles have none and Philadelphia can make up for several missed opportunities in the offseason while still keeping their cap number relatively low. This is a nice idea if Philly chooses to explore it.
