Philadelphia Eagles: Ranking NFL Draft’s top 10 ILBs after Kenneth Murray
If you’re looking for a solid tackler, which is exactly what any team looking for an inside linebacker should be doing, Michigan State Spartans standout Joe Bachie should tickle the fancy. He stuck his head in on 285 total tackles while racking up seven picks, 11 pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and five interceptions in 35 career games at the collegiate level.
He was literally everywhere for Michigan State, but being suspended in October of 2019 after testing positive for a banned substance is going to jeopardize his draft stock and raise questions about his character. He might even slide to Day 3 of the draft.
Evan Weaver is never going to have anyone question his motor. There are some college stars who would love to say that stacked 181 total tackles during their career. Weaver racked that number up in 13 games during the 2019 season. That gives him 407 total tackles, 8.5 sacks, two interceptions, 11 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 46 career games.
He’s six-foot-two. He weighs 234 pounds, and he could hear his name called late on Day 2 or sometime during Day 3. He edges out De’Jon Harris of the Arkansas Razorbacks and Shaquille Quarterman of the Miami Hurricanes for a spot on this list.
