Philadelphia Eagles: Ranking NFL Draft’s top 20 prospects at running back
The Eagles have taken a few looks at Vanderbilt’s standout wide receiver Kalija Lipscomb, probably thanks in large part to the fact that he played for Philly’s current wide receivers coach Aaron Moorehead for two seasons.
While they’re giving him some attention, they might want to consider looking at some tape on his former teammate as well, running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn. He’s a five-foot-nine, 205-pound standout who racked up over 1,000 rushing yards, nine rushing touchdowns, and a receiving touchdown in his final season with the Commodores, and he did it while enduring a hectic SEC schedule.
A.J. Dillon is one of the bigger backs that moves very well. He helped his draft stock a lot with a 4.53-second 40-yard dash. That’s another reason to get excited about him if the 1,685 rushing yards and the 14 touchdowns he put up in 2019 don’t do it for you.
Zack Moss didn’t churn out as many yards as Dillon (1,416), but he reached the end zone with a little more frequency, 15 times to be exact. Add that to 28 receptions for 388 yards and two more trips to the end zone, and you have an idea of why he’s been the subject of quite a few conversations all season.
He hurt himself with a poor showing at the combine, including a 4.65-second showing in the 40.
