Everything set up perfectly for the Eagles in the 2020 NFL Draft’s second round, and they ignored that opportunity in favor of an experiment.

If you would have told any Philadelphia Eagles fan that they would have had an opportunity to select both Justin Jefferson and Denzel Mims in the first two rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft, you may have found yourself on the receiving ends of a few smooches, but no one would have believed you. Well, life is stranger than fiction sometimes.

Jefferson fell in the first round to the Eagles at 21. They went, instead, with a second-generation Eagle, Jalen Reagor. There was no reason to panic though because, when it’s all said and done, that decision may work out.

You can argue that Philly spent a first-round selection on a man who would have been available in the second round, but there’s no guarantee of that or whether or not he would have fallen to the 53rd selection. Seeing Denzel Mims slide in the second round of the selection meeting gave “Birds” fans hope. If Philly could wind up with him. all would have been forgiven.

They passed.

The Eagles went with a quarterback, Jalen Hurts. Let’s state that one more time. Philly could have walked out of the NFL Draft with Justin Jefferson and Denzel Mims. They didn’t land either one of them. On Amazon Prime’s All or Nothing: Philadelphia Eagles, the team’s vice president and general manager Howie Roseman joked that Eagles fans forced him to tint his windows. After this, he may want to stay in the house for a few weeks.

Everything Jalen Hurts does will be compared by “Birds” fans to what Denzel Mims does for the remainder of their careers. Let’s look at what both have done to this point.
