The Eagles stick with the receiver trend in Round 2, even if this sounds like a long shot. Some might think the Eagles will draft another position since they addressed receiver in Round 1, but they desperately need young talent.

At six-foot-four, 223 pounds with a 79-inch wingspan, Michael Pittman Jr. out of USC is hard to pass up.

Surprisingly for his size, Pittman ran a 4.52 forty-yard dash and ran a 6.96 three-cone drill, as he steadily improved throughout his college career.

In 2017, Pittman only had six catches for 82 yards. Then he racked up 23 catches for 404 yards and two touchdowns in 2018.

One year later, Pittman caught 41 passes for 758 yards and six touchdowns. To finish off his career, Pittman collected 101 catches for 1,275 yards and 11 touchdowns during his senior campaign, averaging just under eight catches and 98 yards per game.

Pittman is a proven contributor and a reliable target for any quarterback. One of his best games came as a sophomore when USC played against Stanford when were ranked No. 14 in the country.

That game, Pittman put up 146 yards and a touchdown on seven catches. He has also proven to be a dynamic special teams player and can put a big hit on any guy.

Not only can Pittman go up and make the contested catch, but he can also run the entire route tree and has a vast football IQ that allows him to read defensive coverages pre-snap while adjusting his route as needed.

After some of the miscues last year, the Eagles will value a pick like this. Even when Pittman struggles to get open, he can still make plays with his hands and catch radius.

The Eagles need someone with strong hands, and they also need someone who brings the intensity and swagger Pittman does on the field. He takes pride in everything he does whether it is making plays as a receiver, playing on special teams, or run blocking.

With Pittman, the Eagles  get an upgrade from J.J. Arcega-Whiteside at No. 53.
