Philadelphia Eagles: Best picks still available for No. 53 of 2020 NFL Draft
By Dan Parzych
If the Eagles decide to focus on the defensive side of the football in the second round, Julian Okwara is another prospect Philadelphia should hope to see slip a bit to No. 53 since this is another depth move that could work wonders for Jim Schwartz’s squad.
Even though Okwara wasn’t always the most consistent player over the years with the Fighting Irish, the kind of athleticism he can bring to the table could make this kind of pick worth the risk for the Eagles.
When seeing how the rest of the NFC East is shaping out to be, Philadelphia is going to need all of the extra help possible on the defensive side of the football in 2020 just to keep things close with their three rivals within the division.
If Okwara can find a way to shine right away as a rookie with his quickness, and impressive technique, this will help make up for some of the concerns surrounding the defensive lineman entering the NFL.
The argument can be made that Philadelphia would be better off considering other defenders at this spot, but one of the best parts about the draft is taking some risks as previously mentioned, even this early on with someone like Okwara.
