Philadelphia Eagles: Best picks still available for No. 53 of 2020 NFL Draft
By Dan Parzych
Whether Philadelphia wants to hear it or not, linebacker always seems to be a position of need for the Eagles this time of year, and the team’s previous decision to release Nigel Bradham earlier in the offseason certainly didn’t help the situation.
At some point during the draft, Philadelphia is expected to bring on some help at the linebacker position, and one name that could be available at No. 53 is Alabama’s Terrell Lewis.
The Crimson Tide always have numerous key defenders get selected in the firs few rounds this time of year, and even though the Eagles or any other team expressing interest would love to see the linebacker improve his pass-rushing abilities, he does make up for this in other areas.
For example, Lewis has the kind of burst and length that could cause all sorts of problems for opponents at the NFL level, even if he does deal with some of the early struggles rookies tend to see.
Watching Lewis bounce back from a torn ACL in 2018 to make a significant impact during his junior campaign last season shows what kind of potential he has at the NFL level.
Philadelphia has some questions at the moment in regards to the linebacker position, andLewis is another one of those prospects who could find a way to compete for a starting job as a rookie if he manages to put together a strong training camp along with preseason.
