Philadelphia Eagles: Best picks still available for No. 53 of 2020 NFL Draft
By Dan Parzych
With all of the excitement surrounding the duo of Miles Sanders and Boston Scott entering the 2020 season, the Eagles aren’t as desperate to take a running back this early in the draft.
But if J.K. Dobbins happens to still be available at No. 53, the Ohio State standout deserves some consideration since his numbers alone from over the years with the Buckeyes make this worth the consideration.
All due respect to Scott since Philadelphia’s current No. 2 running back at the moment certainly provided a needed spark on offense at times last season down the stretch, but in comparison to Dobbins, this isn’t even close.
The 2,003 rushing yards with 21 touchdowns during his final season with the Buckeyes in 14 games shows the kind of vision Dobbins has on the football field, and this could be another key move that would help take a ton of pressure off Carson Wentz under center.
After using a second-round pick on Sanders around this time last year, could the Eagles make it two years in a row at the position on Day 2?
A strong argument can be made that Philadelphia should focus on other positions of need for this selection instead of running back, but Dobbins seems like the kind of impact player who will win over the hearts of Eagles fans in no time if given the opportunity.
