Philadelphia Eagles: Grading every pick from 2020 NFL Draft
By Dan Parzych
Grade: C+
Linebacker always seems to be a position of need for the Eagles this time of year, and after missing out on a few key players in the second round that could have been a great fit, Philadelphia decided to go with Davion Taylor with their final pick on Friday.
Like most rookies, Taylor has a few areas that will need to improve now that he’s officially joining the Eagles, but at least this gives Jim Schwartz a fun project to work with at linebacker.
Since Philadelphia seems to have more questions than answers at the position, it’s safe to assume that Taylor’s athletic style of play will put him in great position to compete for significant playing time right away as a rookie in 2020.
With that being said, one of the reasons it’s difficult to grade Taylor higher is due to some of the other prospects still available at the position when Philadelphia was on the clock at this point in the third round.
But hopefully, Taylor turns out to be better than expected so the Eagles can look back at this selection with no regrets to prove some of the doubters wrong, and avoid having to address this position during next year’s draft.
