player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Safety. Clemson. K'Von Wallace. 127. 54

Grade: A-

No matter how hard the Eagles try to replace Malcolm Jenkins on the defensive side of the football at safety, it’s going to seem nearly impossible since the veteran was a special kind of leader over the years with the team to help the defense be one of the best in the league.

But also, when hearing the backstory behind K’Von Wallace making a name for himself at Clemson, it’s easy to understand why Philadelphia was excited to see the Tigers safety still available in the fourth round.

To help make up for the absence of Jenkins, the Eagles decided to bring back both Jalen Mills and Rodney McLeod, but when it comes to beyond the 2020 season, this is where Philadelphia has a bit of uncertainty.

Not only did the Eagles only bring Mills back on a one-year deal to prove he could make an impact at safety, but McLeod is getting up there in age (29), and only signed a two-year deal with the team this offseason.

In other words, Philadelphia knows these two aren’t guaranteed to remain the starters beyond the 2020 season, and if Wallace puts in the work as a rookie, he could very well move into a starting role sooner rather than later for the Eagles.
