Philadelphia Eagles: 3 reasons K’Von Wallace could be potential draft steal
By Dan Parzych
The Philadelphia Eagles used a fourth-round pick on Clemson’s K’Von Wallace to help fill their need at safety.
After making the decision to focus on other positions during the first couple rounds of the 2020 NFL Drat, the Philadelphia Eagles finally addressed their need at safety on Saturday by selection Clemson star K’Von Wallace in the fourth round at No. 127.
First off, the Eagles realize that it’s going to seem nearly impossible to fill the void left by Malcolm Jenkins before the veteran joined the New Orleans Saints for a second stint since his leadership was one of a kind.
And while Philadelphia did their best to make the necessary adjustments by switching Jalen Mills to the position along with bringing Rodney McLeod back, since there is some uncertainty beyond the 2020 season, the draft seemed like the perfect opportunity to bring someone else on.
Just like every other rookie from this year’s draft class, there is no guarantee that Wallace will turn out to be the kind of safety Philadelphia is looking for in the long run, but this is one of those situations in which the Eagles should be in love with the potential.
Finding great talent on the final day of the draft can be tricky for some teams if they don’t properly do their homework, but Philadelphia seems pretty confident in this selection of Wallace.
Now that Wallace is officially a member of the Eagles, it only seems fair to look at a few key reasons over why the fourth-round pick could turn out to be a potential steal for Philadelphia.
Wallace still has plenty to prove as previously mentioned, but the potential alone is enough reason to be excited about this selection by the Eagles.
