Philadelphia Eagles: 3 reasons K’Von Wallace could be potential draft steal

2. Wallace could quickly become starter beyond 2020
As mentioned before, Philadelphia did their best to help fill the void at safety left by Jenkins after agreeing to re-sign both Mills and McLeod for the 2020 season.
While McLeod has already been playing alongside Jenkins at safety over the last couple of years, the Eagles hope the gamble of switching Mills from cornerback will end up paying off in one of the best ways possible.
At least if the switch with Mills fails to work out, Philadelphia could easily move on from the defender after the 2020 season since they only signed him to a one-year deal in March.
Meanwhile, McLeod is getting up their in age (29) and only earned a two-year deal from the Eagles this offseason, showing the team seems more determined to only make him part of their short-term plans instead of the long run.
With all this in mind, Wallace will be in great position to eventually take over the starting role at safety, and it could even happen as soon as 2021 if he happens to play his cards right by living up to the hype.
Plus, if Wallace were to find a way to compete for the starting job as a rookie, this wouldn’t be the worst situation either for the Eagles since it will only make their defense stronger.
