The Philadelphia Eagles pulled off a draft day trade with the San Francisco 49ers to bring on help at wide receiver with Marquise Goodwin.

After all of the trade speculation surrounding Marquise Goodwin, it looks like the Philadelphia Eagles won the sweepstakes to land the veteran wideout from the San Francisco 49ers.

Despite adding two receivers during the 2020 NFL Draft in Jalen Reagor and John Hightower, the Eagles still decided to make the move for Goodwin since Philadelphia clearly has nothing to lose in bringing him on board.

Last season, the Eagles dealt with all sorts of issues at the wide receiver position, mainly due to the key injuries surrounding DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery.

And while it was great for Philadelphia to still find a way to win the NFC East title despite basically playing with practice squad members at wide receiver down the stretch, this approach simply won’t work again in 2020 with all of the competition within the division.

A veteran like Goodwin certainly isn’t going to solve all of the issues the Eagles dealt with in 2019 at the position, but there are numerous reasons why Philadelphia should be excited about this deal during the draft.

Some Eagles fans may not be as excited about the move since Goodwin has yet to break the 1,000-yard mark once in seven NFL seasons, but since the trade is official, here are a few reasons to love the move by Philadelphia.

Despite other trades or decisions the Eagles could have considered throughout the draft, at the end of the day, there really is no hard in giving Goodwin a chance in 2020 to see what he can bring to the table on offense.
