5. Duke Riley

Once again, linebacker was one of the positions Philadelphia needed to improve on the most entering the draft, and it shouldn’t have come as a surprise to see the team go with two players at the position over the three-day span.

After using a third-round pick on Colorado’s Davion Taylor, the Eagles also added some local talent on Saturday with Temple’s Shaun Bradley in the sixth round.

Just like every other rookie from this year’s class, Taylor and Bradley obviously still have a lot to prove to show they have what it takes to make a significant impact for the Eagles on defense.

If Taylor and Bradley end up performing better than expected, one current Philadelphia linebacker who could be at risk to lose his job is Duke Riley, who was traded to the Eagles towards the end of September last season.

Even though Riley appeared in 12 games for Philadelphia in 2019, the former LSU star didn’t record a single start for the Eagles on defense.

And while Riley is projected to be the starter at the moment, part of the reason he is in this current position is due to the lack of options for Philadelphia.

Now that Philadelphia has two new rookies to work with in Taylor and Bradley, Riley’s starting job at linebacker is far from a guarantee.
