4. Jalen Mills

Philadelphia knew deep down that replacing Malcolm Jenkins on defense was going to be nearly impossible this offseason since the veteran’s leadership was truly special all these years, but also the Eagles knew they had to try.

After spending the last couple of years at cornerback, Mills agreed to a one-year deal with the Eagles this offseason, and make the switch to safety to help fill the void left by Jenkins.

Time will tell when it comes to determining whether this was the right move for Philadelphia, but the one-year deal shows the Eagles aren’t committed for the long run.

For their first pick of the fourth round, Philadelphia has plenty of reasons to feel confident in Wallace turning out to be a steal after seeing the safety’s previous motivation to join Clemson.

Wallace may not be viewed as the starter at safety for now, but it doesn’t seem long before one of the newest members of the Eagles makes the transition into the role.

Mills was already feeling the pressure from making the switch to safety, and it’s safe to say that pressure is now on new levels due to Wallace coming on board since the rookie seems talented enough to push for significant playing time during his first NFL season.
