Philadelphia Eagles add 12 undrafted FAs: Thoughts on each one
Grayland Arnold, Baylor, defensive back
If you’re a stat guy or gal, you were probably wondering where Grayland Arnold of the Baylor Bears might end up after he snagged six picks in his final season at the collegiate level. He didn’t hear his name called during the selection meeting. but Philly snatched him up shortly thereafter.
He figures to be a slot cornerback, and you can argue that Philly seemingly has at least four of those. Still, that won’t be his biggest obstacle to making the team. Arnold’s major stumbling block might be that he’s five-foot-nine and weighs186 pounds. There’s no way to coach someone into being taller.
Michael Jacquet, Louisiana-Lafayette, defensive back
At the midpoint of April, NFL Draft Diamonds reported that Michael Jacquet received multiple calls from the Eagles as the draft neared. He also drew some interest from at least 11 other teams.
Why? He was very productive for the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns throughout the past four seasons. He appeared in 44 games, racking up 94 total tackles, a sack, four interceptions, 14 pass breakups, and a forced fumble in the process.
He’s six-foot-two and weighs 201 pounds. Keep both eyes on him.
