Here’s a look at the secondary as it currently stands.

The Eagles have a lot of bodies at the cornerback position (Cre’Von LeBlanc, Avonte Maddox, Nickell Robey-Coleman, Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas, Trevor Williams, Tremon Smith, and Craig James). Following the conclusion of the draft, the added four more defensive backs (Grayland Arnold, Michael Jacquet, Elijah Riley, and Prince Smith)

Right now, there are more questions than answers, and if we’re being honest, it doesn’t really feel like, even with all of those names, that they have anyone that appears to be ready to assume that starting role.

That is unless they move the “Green Goblin” back to that other starting cornerback role now. Keep in mind the fact that, at safety in addition to MIlls, Philly has Rodney McLeod along with Marcus Epps, Rudy Ford, and the newly acquired Will Parks.

Sure, Mills gets tricked by the double-move at times. Sure, he isn’t the fastest guy we’ve ever seen, but for much of his career, Philly’s asked him to be “the guy”. He’s shown flashes, but he’s also been frustrating at times. Then again, he’s never had someone like Darius Slay on the other side of the formation either. Somewhere, Jim Schwartz is smiling.
