6. Trumaine Johnson

Does Trumaine Johnson have what it takes to return to his old form from a few years ago when the cornerback was considered a top defender in the league, and make an impact for a team during the 2020 season?

After spending the beginning of his career with the Los Angeles Rams, the New York Jets signed Johnson to a whopping five-year, $72.5 million deal before the 2018 season with the hope he would provide a major boost to the defense.

Two years later, the Jets felt they would be better off without Johnson since he didn’t exactly live up to the hype, as the cornerback’s previous contract now looks like a complete waste.

For obvious reasons, the Eagles would never consider rewarding Johnson with this type of money since this would be another waste, and any potential consideration should only come at a fair price, or Philadelphia will simply be just wasting their time.

Acquiring Darius Slay in March was a great move for Philadelphia’s defense to give the unit a new No. 1 cornerback to work with, but with numerous players competing for the No. 2 job, adding one more to the mix in Johnson could only help bring out the best competition.
