54. . . . Casey Toohill. 7. player

Former Stanford standout Casey Toohill joins Zach Ertz, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Nate Herbig as former members of the Cardinal who are now on the Eagles’ roster. Ertz is the cream of that crop as the jury is still out on whether or not Herbig and Arcega-Whiteside can even play in this league, and whether anyone wants to hear this or not, Toohill is going to have a major climb if he’s going to leap past a few guys to make Philly’s final 53-man roster.

Let’s say the Eagles keep six defensive ends, a very real possibility. We all know that Brandon Graham is in, as is Derek Barnett, Philly’s former first-round selection that just had his fifth-year option exercised. Philly traded for Genard Avery at the trade deadline last season and told us that move was more about the 2020 season than 2019’s version.

If Toohill is going to make this Eagles roster, he’s going to have to leapfrog Josh Sweat, Daeshon Hall, Shareef Miller, and Joe Ostman, all of which are ahead of Toohill on the depth chart right now. That won’t be an easy task.
