Washington Commanders. 4. team. 58. . .

When it’s all said and done, the Carolina Panthers‘ decision to move on from Ron Rivera may be a move that works out for both sides. There aren’t a ton of football aficionados that are going to tell you that Carolina’s recent slide is his fault, but sometimes, a man needs a change of scenery. Sometimes, a team needs a new voice in the locker room.

For now, Rivera’s landed on his feet, sort of. He earns the unenviable task of resurrecting the Washington Redskins from the doldrums of NFL apathy. It won’t be an immediate turnaround. There’s a lot of work to do, but the question is this.

Will Daniel Snyder show the same patience to Rivera that he showed to Jay Gruden? This is a franchise and a great city hungry for a winner. The problem is this. In a quarterback-driven league, a successful argument can be made that the Redskins have the worst starting quarterback of the NFC East’s four teams.

They did get a generational talent in Chase Young, and Khaleke Hudson and Antonio Gandy-Golden could surprise some people. That’s something that this team can at least hang its hat on.
