The wide receivers (6)

As it seemingly is every offseason and preseason, the Eagles battle at wide receiver will be one of the most interesting conversation pieces of the Spring and Summer. The goal was to get younger and faster and find suitable weapons for Carson Wentz, and it appears that the “Birds” are well on their way to doing just that.

They probably won’t be ab;e to trade him, but expect Alshon Jeffery to be shown the door anyway, even if that means Philly has to eat his huge salary. That opens a roster spot that will be filled by the Eagles’ first-round selection of 2020’s draft, Jalen Reagor.

Greg Ward proved last season that he belongs in this league and he’s been doing that for quite some time, but for whatever reason, Philly just doesn’t seem to ever want to commit to him long term. He’s gained the respect of Eagles fans forever, but he’ll again fall victim to the numbers game and be edged for the final roster spot by John Hightower, Quez Watkins, Marquise Goodwin, and last year’s second-round selection JJ Arcega-Whiteside.
