The running backs (4)

Miles Sanders, Boston Scott, Corey Clement, Michael Warren II

It’s an unfortunate story but a true one. After exploding onto the scene as an undrafted rookie, Corey Clement paid huge dividends for the “Birds” after working his way onto the final 53-man roster in 2017. He was one of several heroes of the 52nd Super Bowl, but injuries have hampered him ever since.

Apparently, he’s ready to go as the Eagles signed him to a one-year deal on April 29th shortly before dinnertime on the East Coast.

There had been some talk about him rejoining the team in 2020 and recapturing some of the same magic that we saw almost three years ago, so we’ll all see how it goes. Here’s a bold prediction. The fourth running back on the roster will be a young man that evokes memories of Mr. Clement, and his name is Michael Warren II. That’s right! We said it!

Like Clement, Warren is an undrafted rookie. Like Eagles legend Jason Kelce, Warren hails from the Cincinnati Bearcats program.  He’s a nice candidate to make this Philadelphia Eagles roster as a dark horse, joining last year’s rookie sensation, Miles Sanders, and Boston Scott as it just feels like he may be able to edge Elijah Holyfield for that final roster spot.

It doesn’t seem like an explosive mix on paper, but on the field, they’ll all pay huge dividends in one way or another.
