The rumors of a Jason Peters and Philadelphia Eagles reunion don’t seem to be slowing down. Take a look at his recent workout video, and you can see why.

Let’s talk a little bit about the Philadelphia Eagles situation at left tackle for a second. No, this won’t be another all-out assault on Andre Dillard, but we can’t talk about Carson Wentz‘s blindside without asking the question. If he’s developing properly, why are we still discussing Jason Peters?

The rumors about a possible reunion with “The Bodyguard” and the “Birds” aren’t slowing down, and here’s something else. Recently, the 38-year-old, nine-time Pro Bowl nod posted a video of one of his workouts. As you might imagine, it got the adrenaline of quite a few “Birds” enthusiasts pumping.

Take a look at this one.

Sure, the old man has lost a step or two, but he hasn’t lost too many. Still, even with all of that being said, the question is a simple one. Is a reunion really in the works? Recently, NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Derrick Gunn had a chat on 94 WIP-FM Philadelphia with Jon Marks and Ike Reese, and he says “There’s no rush on Jason Peters’ part and there’s no rush on the Eagles’ part because nobody basically can do anything.”

Here’s more from Gunn.

"Jason Peters, they know what he is, what he’s capable of doing. From what I’ve been told, Peters turned down offers from elsewhere because he wants to stay with the Eagles. The Eagles want him. You can look at it on the surface and say, ‘well he’s 38 years old’, but I will say this. He is that rarity of a guy who is still, at 38 years old, one of the best technicians at his position and is still I would argue one of the top 10 players."

No one would dispute most of that. The only thing is most would ask is how much longer can he play at a high level and be productive. No one wants to see him fall off of a cliff like so many players who played one year longer than they should have. No one wants to see that Jason Peters.

Gunn has another theory and this one is interesting.

"I think you guys would agree at his position as well. Granted injuries have started to pile up a little more, he’s playing 80 to 85 percent of the snaps, but I’d rather have Jason Peters 80-85 percent of the time than not have him at all right now."

Too many people have talked about this recently. Whether you’re on board or not, it appears Jason Peters’ last ride in Philly may be scheduled for a third act. We’ll have to wait and see if that’s the case.
