6 Things Philadelphia Eagles 2021 cap issues tells us about their future

5. Yes, we’ve arrived at Zach Ertz.
Believe it or not, Zach Ertz’s contract could be one that eventually becomes problematic. It isn’t as looming as the previous three that we’ve mentioned, but it’s still is an odd situation that much be discussed.
Ertz represents cap hits of $12.5 million in 2020 and in 2021, and then, there’s something that no one is discussing. The problem is both he and Dallas Goedert are expected to become unrestricted free agents in 2022. Don’t expect this team to award two tight ends elite money.

Contract decisions might have to be made on Graham, Brooks, Johnson, and Jason Kelce as well. Those four are up in age and are all within the top thirteen highest cap hits in 2021. They probably won’t be cut or traded, but they could be asked to restructure or take pay cuts.
Departures that are triggered by next year’s free agency period along with a few retirements, both expected and unexpected, could be looming. Let’s tie a few loose ends together and put a bow on this conversation.
