882. . . . Rd 5 (via Dallas), Paddy Fisher, LB. 5. player

It seems strange to say that a season that produces 88 tackles, a sack, an interception, three pass breakups, and a forced fumble qualifies as an off-year, but that’s what happens when someone racks up 227 tackles, a sack, two picks, five pass breakups and eight forced fumbles in his first 27 games.

The bar is set even higher in Year 3.

Paddy Fisher doesn’t get the burn that he should because he plays for Northwestern, but if he was at Ohio State, Clemson, or with the Oklahoma Sooners, we’d be discussing him as a Round 1 or Round 2 prospect.

We’ll see how he progresses in 2020, and if he climbs, but for now, this six-foot-four, the 246-pound standout is a mid-round prospect in this scenario. Even still, if he isn’t in your top ten of the best linebackers that will be available in 2021’s draft, your list needs to be adjusted.

Right now, he’s getting everything from grades that put him in Round 3 to others that say he might be available in Round 5. Add this guy to an Eagles rotation that figures to include Shaun Bradley, Davion Taylor, Nathan Gerry, Jatavis Brown and T.J. Edwards (even though it feels like Taylor will be playing safety one day), and the “Birds” can finally throw a wedge in that revolving door Philly always seems to have at the linebacker position.
