Recent history between these two hasn’t been too kind.

To put things simply, the Eagles need to get off the schneid against the men from NOLA. Since 2006, the “Birds” have a record of 2-7 versus the Saints, and Philly’s lost all three postseason matchups.

It’s been tough sledding for the guys in midnight green, and Week 14 will likely be another playoff-type atmosphere. The Eagles would be wise to watch some extra film.

In 2018, the Eagles were shot out of cannon with a Cre’Von LeBlanc interception on the first offensive play of the game, which helped Philly take a 14-0 lead. The Saints climbed back into it with a fake punt, and before anyone could blink, the Saints were back on top.

A surprising missed field goal from Wil Lutz gave the Eagles one more shot to go downfield and win the game, but instead of letting the clock run down to the two-minute warning, Doug Pederson elected to run one more play. It didn’t end well.

We all remember what happened. The pass went through Alshon Jeffery‘s hands and found Marshon Lattimore. The heartbreak was instant.

The regular-season matchup in 2018 might’ve been an even tougher pill to swallow. That one was a 48-7 victory. Might Payton have Doug Pederson’s number? Let’s hope the trend doesn’t continue in 2020. In the meantime, here are two obvious reasons this one needs to be circled on the calendar.
