Here are a few more random thoughts.

The Eagles have transformed their offense this offseason. Outside of re-signing Corey Clement, free agency wasn’t where Philly looked to build another potential contender. They found those in the draft. They picked up speedy wide receivers Jalen Reagor, John Hightower, and Quez Watkins. They also traded for Marquise Goodwin during the selection meeting’s final day.

The Saints, on the other hand, re-signed future hall of fame quarterback Drew Brees and pro-bowl offensive lineman Andrus Peat. They also extended utility man Tayson Hill and brought in Pro-Bowl wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to be part of an already potent offense. In the draft, New Orleans added offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz, tight end Adam Trautman, and another potential utility man in Tommy Stevens.

All of these moves show that both the Eagles and Saints want to compete for a ring right now. Both are loaded on both sides of the ball and both teams feature positions coaches who have done an amazing job of developing talent in the past. Doug Pederson and Sean Payton have been given the pieces for a potentially epic battle in Week 14 of 2020’s season. Even if there are injuries, both teams have added enough depth to guarantee they’ll be well-prepared for anything that comes their way.

Each team’s new additions could be huge x-factors in deciding this game. Not every rookie or free agent will work out as expected, which could be positive or negative depending on expectations, but we’ll see which team made the right decisions and who can develop their talent to gain the advantage in this one. This one appears to be an evenly-matched game on paper, so it may come down to coaching.
