3 dream trade targets for Eagles from Bills before 2020 training camp
By Dan Parzych
1. Tre’Davious White
While wide receiver was an obvious need for the Eagles entering the offseason, the cornerback position wasn’t too far behind the team when looking at all of the inconsistent play from 2019.
Whether it happened to involve injuries or simply players failing to step up, Philadelphia knew they would need to do whatever it takes to improve at cornerback for 2020, or it could result in the team eventually watching the playoffs from home down the road.
Luckily, the Eagles struck gold prior to the start of free agency after agreeing to a trade with the Detroit Lions to bring Darius Slay on board to provide the defense with a new No. 1 cornerback.
As for the No. 2 spot, Philadelphia has a few candidates in mind such as Sidney Jones or Avonte Maddox at the moment to step up, but also if they were in position to upgrade with another stud like Tre’Davious White, just imagine what this could do for the defense.
Coming off his first Pro Bowl season, it’s only a matter of time before White is up for a hefty new deal of his own, and while the Bills would obviously prefer to keep him around if they can, there’s always the chance of the cornerback’s asking price being too high.
White may be under contract through 2021 after Buffalo made the easy decision to explore his fifth-year option, but if they were to somehow have a change of heart over the next few months, Philadelphia would be foolish not to jump on the opportunity.
