The Philadelphia Eagles crop of defensive ends consists of nine men. Some are familiar, and some we’ll need to get to know over the next few months.

They’re stocked but not solid. They’re deep in a sense, but no one would refer to what the Philadelphia Eagles have as depth. The defensive end position, as it has been for the past few seasons, is and will be one of the major talking points for fans and the media for the rest of the Spring and throughout the Summer months.

Here’s what we know about Philly’s current nine-man defensive end lineup. The best one they have is their oldest, and he might not be here past the upcoming season. The guy that should be ready to step up and fill the gap when he leaves was the 14th-overall selection in 2017’s draft, but he’s far from ready to assume the void left by his predecessor and mentor.

Here’s what’s strange though. Philadelphia just exercised the fifth-year option on his rookie deal.

After the former first-rounder is guys that were already on the roster who are unproven, so Philly drafted another defensive end in the most recent selection meeting and added another shortly after the draft concluded.

Here’s a quick power ranking from top to bottom, complete with some analysis and a few preliminary grades on each one.
