The Philadelphia Eagles have a decision to make at nickel corner. There are plenty of viable options, but who will come out as the top option in the slot?

The Philadelphia Eagles have had their fair share of cornerback issues in recent years, but newly acquired Darius Slay will hold down the top spot on the outside. After Slay, however, the depth chart is foggy. It’s unclear who will start on the opposite side, and it’s especially unclear who will win the nickel corner job.

The Eagles, to the surprise of some, signed former Los Angeles Rams standout and veteran slot corner Nickell Robey-Coleman on March 25th to bolster the position. The Eagles also have fan-favorite Cre’Von LeBlanc, Avonte Maddox, and even Sidney Jones as options in the slot. And if things go downhill faster than we’d like, the team still has a Jim Schwartz favorite, Jalen Mills if he isn’t converted to safety as some are assuming he will be.

It would appear that the two most sensible options would be Robey-Coleman or LeBlanc, but if Jones, the former second-round pick, outperforms Maddox on the outside in camp, the competition inside could get amped up. Let’s analyze things a little further.
